Pomelos are a type of citrus fruit that are native to Southeast Asia and are the largest of all citrus fruits. They are often referred to as “Chinese grapefruit” and are similar in taste to grapefruits, but with a sweeter, milder flavor. Pomelos have a thick, rough, yellow-green skin that covers a juicy, pink or white flesh. The flesh of a pomelo is typically segmented, much like that of an orange, and can be eaten fresh or used in juices, salads, and other dishes. Pomelos are a good source of vitamin C and other nutrients, and have been shown to have a number of potential health benefits, including improving heart health, boosting the immune system, and helping to prevent certain types of cancer.
